What I mean is this: the one who sows a small number of seeds will also reap a small crop, and the one who sows a generous amount of seeds will also reap a generous crop. Everyone should give whatever they have decided in their heart. They shouldn’t give with hesitation or because of pressure. God loves a cheerful giver. God has the power to provide you with more than enough of every kind of grace.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Mission & Outreach
Here at Union Grove Congregational Church, we seek to bear witness to the good news of God’s love for the world by living into who Christ calls us to be. We do so by practicing Christ’s greatest commandments: to love God and to love one another with all our mind, soul, and strength. As a church, we worship together, pray for one another, and serve the needs of our wider community together. Below are many of the ways in which we do just that!
Prayer Blankets
Once a month, we gather in our Fellowship Hall to tie blankets for those who need to be wrapped in prayer. Every knot is tied with love. Once a blanket is complete, we bless it during worship and it is taken to the person it was made for, along with a card. If you know someone who could use a prayer blanket, please reach out.
Christmas in July
Every July, we celebrate “Christmas in July.” Working with the local high school and elementary school guidance counselors, we discern what the needs are for students, particularly low-income students. Throughout the month, we collect the needed items. On the final Sunday, we have a Christmas-themed worship and then take all items to the school.
Super Saturday
Super Saturday is a day-long community event in Union Grove in which local businesses and organizations set up booths along main street and folks can walk around and enjoy live music and delicious food. We set up a booth every year and enjoy getting to meet all the wonderful members of our community!
Holiday Craft Fair
Put on by three local churches, the Holiday Craft Fair at Union Grove Elementary School is a one-stop-shop for holiday shopping. Our church is one of the sponsors of the event and we host a big bake sale right at the entrance.
Union Grove Food Bank
Union Grove Area Foodbank serves families and individuals in the Greater Union Grove area for the last 40 years. We donate items and some of our members volunteer regularly, including serving on the foodbank’s board.
Christmas Mission
Similar to our Christmas in July mission program, we work with a local organization to identify needs within our community and meet them as best we can during the Christmas season. In 2021, we purchased Christmas gifts for families in need through Love, Inc.
Broncos Give Back
UGHS's Broncos Give Back was in September and students of the UGHS participated in a variety of service activities across the community. We were blessed to have 15 students & 2 teachers come to UGUCC and help us with multiple much needed tasks. Ken & Daryl worked with students & teachers removing the weeds around the Moe house. Carrie supervised a group at our Sunday School/Office building, dusting, vacuuming and washing windows. Alice supervised another group cleaning the church building, vacuuming, dusting and cleaning the stairwells. This event allows the students to give back to the community, and we are very grateful!

Care Bag Donations
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Care Bags! This was a project of the Mission Outreach group. We will be repeating this project, again, this Fall. Care Bags filled with these personal products were donated to the Women's Resource Center in Racine.
